Direct-Fired System
Features
Biomass direct-fired systems are available with gross heat output capacities of 25 MMBtu/hr up to 250 MMBtu/hr (or higher depending on configuration).
Higher temperature gases can be directed for various uses such as dryers and convective thermal oil heaters.
Refractory lined blending chambers are used to mix furnace exhaust gases with ambient air, blend air, or dryer exhaust gas to achieve desired gas temperatures into the dryer (see illustration below).
Systems are provided with a broad turn-down range.

Typical Applications
Wellons Direct-Fired Energy Systems supply hot gases to rotary dryers for MDF, HDF, OSB and Pellet Plants. The gases are conveyed through high temperature, insulated & refractory lined ducts. If required, our systems will simultaneously supply hot gases to a convective thermal fluid heater, supplying plant heat loads such as log vat heating and press platen heating.
