Conversion to Continuous Dry Kilns (CDK)
Wellons can convert your existing track kiln to a Continuous Dry Kiln (CDK). Empirical data shows that a Wellons CDK conversion can significantly increase kiln production, while reducing energy consumption up to 20%.
A CDK conversion scope includes new energy recovery sections at the ends of the existing track kiln and possible upgrades to the existing kiln such as improved air flow design and heating system upgrades.

Kiln Rail Heat
Wellons has experience providing rail heat in harsh winter conditions which can be an essential addition to a new kiln or as an upgrade to an existing kiln ensuring uninterrupted operations during inclement weather.
Rail Heat Sources
Regardless of your heating system for lumber drying, Wellons can provide rail heat with any of the following energy sources:
Natural Gas - Gas fired glycol heater
Propane - Propane fired glycol heater
Thermal Oil - Thermal oil to glycol heat exchanger
Steam - Steam to glycol heat exchanger
Electric - If your current energy supply is not sufficient for rail heat, we can supply electric rail heat

Single Point Exhaust & Supply Vent
Wellons Canada designs, fabricates, and installs single point venting systems for environmental compliance and monitoring.
We have experience installing fan and ducting systems that replace the multiple roof vent systems with a single point exhaust vent and single point supply vent from the kiln.
We can also install a Continuous Emissions Monitoring system (CEMS) to facilitate reporting requirements.

Vapour Extraction Modules
Wellons provides a short extension on each end of CDK kilns with an extraction fan and stack to reduce steam discharge at the kiln doors improving visibility and reducing ice buildup in winter conditions.
