Electrical Output from

300 kW to 15 MW

Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) Turbogenerators operate in a closed thermodynamic cycle to convert heat into electricity. The heat medium is an organic working fluid.

ORC power generation technology can be designed and operated in two configurations – Electrical Power Generation or in a Combined Heat & Power (CHP) application.

ORC for Biofuel Energy Systems

Wellons offers ORC for new biofuel systems, providing thermal heating and process energy alongside electricity generation supplying on-site electrical demand or as an additional revenue stream through the sale of electricity.

Additionally, Wellons offers ORC for existing biofuel energy systems with excess thermal capacity making use of spare thermal heating capacity for electrical power generation.

ORC with Process Waste Heat Recovery

Wellons evaluates the feasibility of utilizing the waste heat stream from high-grade heat exhaust gases, turbine gasses, or a reciprocating engine to generate electricity or provide additional process or utility heat.

The energy in the waste heat stream is captured by way of an air to thermal oil heat exchanger or through direct heat exchange to the organic working fluid.
