Air Cooled Fixed-Grates
For smaller systems, Wellons provides an air-cooled fixed grate in a refractory lined chamber.
Each fixed grate combustor incorporates a fuel feed screw under the grate which creates a pile of fuel on the grate.
Most dry fuels have low ash contents and convenient access doors are provided to manually remove any ash that accumulates in the combustion chamber.

Water-Cooled Fixed-Grates
For larger systems, Wellons provides a fixed grate proprietary Wellons Cell Furnace with a water-cooled floor.
Depending upon the fuel characteristics, the water cooled fixed grate cell can incorporate either a fuel feed screw under the water cooled grate or a fuel feed chute above the grate.
In the fixed grate Wellons Cell Furnace, the combustion air enters the chamber through a series of tangential tuyere holes creating the desired mixing environment to complete the combustion process.
