Combined Wet & Dry Fuel Storage & Delivery
Wellons provides a combined fuel storage and delivery system to store both the wet and dry fuel in separate bins and mix the fuel prior to delivery to the metering bin to achieve the desired final combined moisture content for the combustor.

Features
There are a number of features available to ensure an uninterrupted supply of fuel to the combustor.
- Rakes: The live floor design features a series of rakes that are 4’-6” wide and up to 50 feet long. To achieve the desired storage volume or fuel delivery capacity, additional rakes can be installed side by side in multiple arrangements in order to give the required storage area.
- Hydraulic cylinders drive the rakes. Depending on the type of fuel, the hydraulic cylinders will be either 8” or 10” in diameter, and come with one power pack per bin.
- Fuel pile heights are typically 15’ depending on the fuel type. Additional storage volume is achieved by adding additional rakes.
- Leveling screws are provided to distribute the fuel inside the bin to take full advantage of the effective area of the live floor.
- A spike roll can also be provided at the discharge of the live floor to break any large clumps of fuel and evenly distribute the fuel into the unloading conveyor.
- Drag chains or screw conveyors discharge fuel from the live floor for subsequent transport to the combustor’s metering bin. A vibrating conveyor is also available to separate larger pieces from the fuel stream.
