New President & CEO

April 25, 2024 – Wellons is pleased to announce affective May 1st 2024, Pat Thornton, the current President of Wellons Canada, will assume the role of President / CEO of the Wellons Group. Pat will be replacing Martin Nye, the majority shareholder, whom has been the President / CEO for more than 30 years.

For over 50 years, Wellons has been a leader in providing biomass-fired energy systems, lumber dry kilns, and related products and services to the forest products and industrial power industries. We provide our customers with complete services in design, engineering, and manufacturing, as well as installation services and technical assistance. Martin has built up a successful and financially sound, customer focus business and will remain helping in a reduced capacity providing support to Pat where needed through this transition.

Wellons Canada Acquires Sechoir MEC

We are excited to announce that Wellons Canada has acquired Séchoir MEC.

This acquisition provides the opportunity to become the foremost expert and supplier of lumber drying kilns in North America. By combining our strengths and resources, we aim to create a stronger, more innovative and competitive presence in the marketplace.

MEC DRY KILN, located in Victoriaville, QC, offers 31 years of drying expertise to its customers in Eastern Canada and in Maine, with customers from all areas of the wood industry.

With over 300 installations, MEC Dry Kiln is an industry leader in design, manufacture, installation and repair of wood drying equipment in Eastern Canada. The acquisition solidifies Wellons position as an industry leader providing track and package batch kilns with additional manufacturing capacity in Eastern Canada.

Hiring Announcement

February 22, 2022 – It is our pleasure to announce that Stéphane Laurin is joining Wellons Canada Sales Team in Eastern Canada as a Capital Sales Representative primarily focusing on the sale of Energy Systems.

Stéphane, whom is a Professional Engineer, brings a strong background in boiler and energy system sales and applications. Most recently being part of Novatherm,

Stéphane brings a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding biomass combustion, thermal energy and steam applications. Stéphane spent almost 10 years in the late 90’s, early 2000’s, working for Coen Canada in Quebec as an application Engineer and then Sale Manager. Stéphane is fluent in both English and French.

Stéphane will be located at our Saint-Julie, QC office forming an even stronger sales team in Eastern Canada.
