The suspension burner is ideally suited for the combustion of dry, fine biomass fuels. These small particles dry and volatilize rapidly in the burner flame producing low unburned carbon. This provides better control of fuel air mixing, improves combustion efficiency.

Multiple Biomass Fuel Options

In addition to woody biomass, Wellons has the capability of combusting a variety of agricultural residues.

As an example, Wellons has suspension burner systems combusting oat hulls, barley needles, malt sprouts, rice husks, dry wood waste as primary fuels and natural gas and No 2 Oil as auxiliary fuels. Many of these fuels have unique physical and chemical characteristics which require special consideration to ensure clean and efficient combustion as well as the longevity of the equipment.

Depending on potential fuel available, Wellons will conduct combustion testing to evaluate flue gas combustion & composition and the ash characteristics under varying combustion conditions to determine the correct technology.
