TRUMARK Moisture Metering System

The Wellons in-kiln TRUMARK Moisture Metering System significantly improves moisture measurement for lumber dry kilns. Based on Wellons proven True Capacitance technology, TRUMARK ensures accurate, consistent lumber moisture measurement throughout the drying process. Installation of TRUMARK is clean and simple, requiring minimal down time.

Moisture Metering (TRUMARK)

Features & Benefits

Using TRUMARK, drying times shorten, standard deviation is narrowed, and the lumber grade is maximized. TRUMARK systems are available on new kilns and as a system upgrade. Benefits include:

Accurate moisture content measurement above and below fiber saturation.

Seamless integration with Wellons Winkiln control software.

Automatic kiln shutdown when final moisture content is reached.

Elimination of hot-checks

Full utilization of exit air control benefits with as few as four (4), or as many as twenty-four (24). Six and eight unit systems are typical configurations.

Moisture Driven Schedules

Operators can develop precise, accurate schedules that achieve consistent drying results. Each step of the drying and equalizing cycles is based on actual “measured” moisture content in lieu of calculated moisture content allowing the Wellons Winkiln control system to accurately react to the necessary changes within the kiln environment.

Control Integration

TRUMARK is fully integrated into the Wellons Winkiln control system to automate the drying process and improve overall results.

Operators have the ability to adjust the controls to make automatic schedule changes based on measured moisture content, time, or a combination of both.

Consistent targeted MC drying is maximized resulting in less drying degrade and fewer wets to re-dry. With TRUMARK, drying schedules are developed using real-time moisture content.

Description of Equipment

The TRUMARK system typically includes the following components:

COMMUNICATIONS PANEL to interface between the system computer and Distribution Panels

DISTRIBUTION PANEL to interface with assemblies.

SENSOR ASSEMBLIES consisting of the Sensor Panels, Wiring, Clip Brackets, and Sensor Plates.

TRUMARK requires minimal maintenance and is easy to use. In-kiln components are designed for the harsh conditions found in lumber dry kilns, including high temperature applications and conditioning.

Durable stainless-steel sensor plates require no special handling or cleaning. The distribution and sensor panels require no maintenance and are designed for simple installation and easy access. The wiring harnesses that connects to each sensor plate are designed with a “break-away” connection to protect the system should lumber fall or the operator forget to remove the sensor plates before pulling a charge.
